How to Choose Where to Study in?

First things first, if you would like to get a university education, you have to know what it takes to get a university education. Otherwise, it would be impossible for you to get a university education. Applying to a university is not a big deal but study in a university is quite a big deal. First of all, just like any other thing  on the world studying in the university has its own cost and benefits. It requires some capital. It requires some other stuff as well. For example, you have to go through your normal and formal high school education and complete your high school education first. After that, you have to make a search online and learn about the universities and the higher education system. Some students are planning to attend a Turkish university and study in Turkey while other students are planning to attend a vocational school and other type of schools. Vocational schools in Turkey are also great and offer many financial aid and scholarships.  It depends on what type of a school a student would like to attend and what type of a major the student would like to study. Their mindset and their father’s mindset is also a factor.

Where You Should Study? United States, United Kingdom or Turkey?

Recently we got a question from one the student who says she would like to study in Turkey but she does not know what she needs to do and how she needs to do it. She says studying in Turkey is her dream and to realize her dream she has to do something but she is clueless and she does not have any idea what she needs to do. So we tried to help her, of course we try to help her as we are the people who like to help fellow students, friends and other people on the world, every one of the seven billion people in the world. But we have to understand that we had to help her better, because her situation was kind of sensitive, in fact her situation was very much sensitive because that was her dream to study in Turkey, and if you take away one person’s dreams from him or her, what would he or she need to do then? We understood that for her studying in Turkey was not just a situation, it was her dream, her lifelong dream maybe. So, as I said before we tried to help her out and thanks to God it worked.

Here is some quick information for prospective students who would like to study in Turkey as well. You have to understand that applying to Turkish university is very easy and getting an acceptance is even easier. But still it takes and requires some legwork and footwork. These are the steps.

First, you have to decide; you have to decide what major would you like to study in a Turkish university. Because deciding is very important. This is the first step, the very first step but maybe the most important step. Because if you would make mistake when deciding which university to attend, it would affect your whole university life and ruin your adult life as well. Also, do you guys remember that there are some young people who are asking me why they need to study in Turkey? I don’t think this is a logical question, furthermore, I do not think this is question that makes sense. So, when somebody asks me this same kind of question nowadays, I know that I have only one thing to do. The only thing that I have to do is I turn back, go find where that students was and reply him or her as ; “Why not study in Turkey?”. Because, what I think was this is a much radical question, is not it? So, when it comes to like this. I know that there are much quality universities in Turkey, consider about there are Harvard University, LSE London School of Economics University, there are also Boston University, Stanford University, Yale University, New York University, NYU, New York State University, City University of New York.. I know all of these. Make sure that. Also, there are a some people who underestimates the power that China has right now. Because it really does not make sense. Most of the people think that China is still and underdeveloped, poor country which produces crap products with low quality. Are you serious? Really? This is a type of question that I am really bored of hearing, it does not make any sense. Come on now; it was 30 years ago. Okay, that was correct back then. 30 years ago China was an underdeveloped country with no strong economy and people were right to assume that Chinese products are crap and as well as Chinese people are poor in general. During that time if a product is labeled as “Made in China”, that would mean that the products is in low quality and is worthless. But, you have to give credit to Chinese people because they are very much hardworking people. I bet that if you travel all around the world, you are not going to find any people more hardworking than Chinese people.  So, when you see a Chinese person you have to understand than that person is probably more hardworking than you are.

Anyway, I do not want talk about Chinese today and I would like to talk about Turkey. What I am trying to say is studying is Turkey is good and you will have many opportunities after you are graduated. That’s why I am always telling to people around, let it be the students that I talk to online or other students that I encounter on fairs, student fairs or higher education fairs; you be better think about Turkey. Okay, we all know that studying in United States has much more advantages, right? You can also say the same thing about United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. But, to be accepted to a American university, or an British, Australian or Canadian university is really hard.  Also, those universities are very much expensive. Do you have any idea about the tuition fees of Harvard? Or New York University? Or, MIT, Stanford etc.? I do not mean to say that it does not worth it, it would definitely worth it. But, what if you do not have that much money and your family also do not have that much money? Then, what you should do?

I think most of the folks who read this article already know that studying in one these countries, United States of America, United Kingdom of England, Australia and Canada, is very much expensive. So, what you should do? Of course, the answer is consider studying in Turkey. Why not? Think about it. In most of the Universities in Turkey, medium of instruction is English; which means it is no different than a university in United States. If you study in United States, United Kingdom, Australia or Canada, the medium of education is going to be English, same with Turkey. Also, you have to make sure that Istanbul is no different than New York, London, Sydney or Toronto, as beautiful as those cities; if not more beautiful.

My Thoughts on Studying in Turkey

We would like to give you some information about why you need to study in Turkey because sometimes we hear and feel that some foreign students from some other countries such as China, United States of America, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam and United Kingdom of England ask us why should I study in Turkey? And we also hear this same question from students from Germany, France and Italy, so we would like to prepare an article to give you some information about studying in Turkey. Because Turkey is a good and beautiful country, and also one of the most prestigious countries in the world, so it means that studying in Turkey is also prestigious.

So, imagine that you are an international student who is studying in his or her own country and you are going to be graduated from the high school in a few months, three months or four months. And, you have no idea what you are going to study and where you are going to study it because you are clueless. So, what you are going to do? Well, you have to set a plan. Because, all the good things in the world happen once you make a plan. But, you have to make a flat and good plan as well. Otherwise, your plan is going to be worthless and it is not going to work.  So you have to make a good plan and let other people accept the plan so that you can make sure that your plan is going to work. You also have to write down your plan and your goals, memories etc. You also have to speak to your father, mother or other relatives, because generally they are going to be the people who are going to pay your tuition fee and also going to give you your pocket money while you are studying here in Turkey. Also, in some cases companies send their employees to foreign countries to pursue for better education. This is generally the case for MBA or other types of short term certificate programs. Because, generally undergraduate studies lasts about 4 years and graduate studies lasts about at least 2 years. So, those companies generally prefers the MBA programs which takes about 1 year at most and other type of certificate programs which also takes about less than one year. So that it is not going to cost much money to the sending company and the worker can learn a skill in short time. Those types of MBA programs and types of certificate programs are very useful and if one company send their employees or workers to Turkey for study in short term it is almost a guarantee that their profits is going to be much higher in the upcoming years. It is assured in most of the cases. Because when that worker comes to Turkey he or she is going to learn so many things and after that he or she is going to go back to work. And the company is going to earn so much money.

Most of the students come to Turkey for study in Turkey because they think Turkey offers a very high quality education. And, they are absolutely right! Turkey offers a great value of education. And, please keep in the mind that the high level of education is not the only thing that Turkey offers to international students. But, still education quality is important right? There are about 10 of the universities that are considered as some of the best universities in the world. There are about 50,000 of international students studying in Turkey currently and this number is only going up and up each year. Turkey is quickly becoming one of the favorite places for an international student. The countries that are sending most of their students to Turkey can be listed as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, some old Soviet countries, also some African countries like Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, some Asian countries like China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore. Also, students from the most developed countries of the world come to Turkey to get a better education, like United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France, Japan and Italy. This is also an enough sign that quality of higher education in Turkey is very high.

So, you may also wonder what you need to study in Turkey. One student can come up and ask to an education consultant “what should I study?”. Ok, here it goes like that. Studying business management is very popular in Turkey; Turkey is a popular business hub especially big cities like Istanbul and Izmir, so studying business management in Turkey is very popular. If a student would study business management in Turkey in a prestigious university, he or she is going to earn a good money in the future. After graduation student can easily get a job with a perfect salary and perfect working conditions anywhere he or she wants. Alternatively, students can also found their own company. Some other popular academic programs like economics, international relations, psychology, sociology, language programs, ESL, TSL, political science, religion sciences, social sciences, medicine, human medicine, animal medicine can be listed some of the best programs to study in Turkey. Also, Turkey is the best tourism country in the World and Istanbul is the fifth most visited city in the world. You can easily understand that studying tourism management in Turkey is also going to be very useful for your future. Not only a general tourism program, but sub programs like tourism management, tourism guide, hotel management etc. are also very popular in Turkey. An international student can come to Turkey and look for possible opportunities for future and set their tourism company in Turkey. But first the students should be able to study tourism management in Turkey and complete the academic program. After the student is graduated and get their degree they can easily set up their company and earn a considerable amount of money. If you are interested in tourism sector, you really have to think studying tourism in Turkey. Turkish Airlines need some of the international flight attendants as well, so that an international student can study in Turkey and apply to Turkish Airlines after graduation. Because, Turkish Airlines flying to many countries in the world and need flight attendants who are able to speak the language of that country. For example, consider the People Republic of China. Turkish Airlines has 4 direct flights to China every day from Istanbul to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Also, Turkish Airlines is starting to operate in Taiwan region in a short time. It means that Turkish Airlines would need flight attendants who are able to speak Chinese language for their flights. If a Chinese students would come to Turkey for study he or she may end up working at Turkish Airlines, which is an incredibly great company to work at. It offers great salary, great health insurance, great life conditions and great social rights. We have to state that many Turkish students who are currently studying in Turkey, Turkish universities would like to work at Turkish Airlines because of the reasons that we stated above, but it is not so easy to be accepted as a flight attendant to Turkish Airlines, because it is basically the best airline in the whole world. But, an international student, if he or she is from a country that Turkish Airlines is operating in, they can easily find a job in Turkish Airlines. Turkish Airlines is operating to more than 150 countries worldwide, so it is a great probability that you are from a country that Turkish Airlines is operating in, which makes the things much easier.
